…and the Tulchan Seminar

“Sadly, because of the sophistication and ubiquity of contemporary media, being world class at your job does not necessarily make you the most proficient ambassador for it. To become effective you may have to develop a range of skills you may not currently use in your day jobs.

Building on the experience of some of its most senior consultants, Tulchan has developed a seminar which will help participants navigate the complex worlds of the media and the city. Designed around a series of modules, the training can be tailored to your individual needs.

The subjects covered include:

Life in the Public Eye
An in-depth look at the common pitfalls of corporate communications, managing expectations, the reporting treadmill and how to deal with crisis.

Managing City Relationships
A detailed look at a complex area: regulation and legislation (now and how it might change); forecasts, profit warnings and leaks; who owns UK plc; the IR programme; who analysts are and what they do.

Dealing with the Media
A practical guide to navigating the media minefield: management as public property; what the media want and how they work; news and comment; how to build and maintain great media relationships; not just what you say but how you say it.

Those running the seminar are drawn from the ranks of Tulchan’s top team, which has a wide range of experience in all the areas covered by the course.

Each Tulchan Seminar takes half a day and is held at various times throughout the year. For further details, please contact Ruth Merryweather.
