Investor Perceptions

Investor Perceptions provides a fresh, independent and cost effective approach to delivering investor feedback to listed companies. We aim to provide companies with a concise, high quality and authoritative insight into the perceptions and attitudes of investors, both shareholders and non-holders.

There is a growing recognition of a greater need for engagement between shareholders and the companies they are invested in. The recent Institutional Shareholders' Committee, the Walker Review and the development of the Stewardship Code are evidence of this. A regular and independent assessment of the views of investors is an integral part of this engagement process.

The real value of an investor feedback exercise is knowing who said what. Investor Perceptions' reports contain attributed verbatim comments so companies can attach weight to what has been said and make an assessment of the strength of feeling on specific issues. Our perception studies focus on what companies need and value the most - an authoritative assessment of the views of the institutions contacted.

Discussions are conducted over the telephone. Using the telephone is more conducive to a discussion than the interview-based question and answer format. The telephone calls are recorded and transcribed via the Internet. This approach provides a flexible, lower-cost and secure process. A charitable donation is made on behalf of those who participate in the study.
