April Fools Day 2003 was the day I joined Tulchan, following sixteen years at Morgan Stanley as both an investment banker and in equity sales. I knew Andrew Grant and realised he was building an interesting company with a great business model. His skills and experience and those of the impressive people he’d already gathered round him complemented mine – and that remains the case today.

It’s one of our strong points; the wide variety of skills and experience amongst our Consultants makes us, I think, a strong professional team. And our structure allows us to get to know our clients’ business really thoroughly, which in turn gives me great job satisfaction. Because our advice is completely dispassionate and properly thought through, I find I’m dealing at a far higher level within client companies than I ever would as a corporate broker.
