A Degree in Psychology might not sound like a natural starting point for a career in public relations – but I have found my knowledge of how to deal with people invaluable. After graduating from the University of Birmingham I began an internship with Tulchan at the start of 2005 and soon became member of the Analyst team, with responsibility for covering the media, technology and support services sectors.

My role in the analyst team required me to keep on top of the business news for both clients and Tulchan consultants, while increasing my understanding of a number of industries and the financial markets. I became an Associate mid-2007, increasing my experience of the day to day running of accounts, client support and media handling.

Since joining Tulchan I have been lucky enough to spend three months working with the in house investor relations and communications team in a FTSE100 company, and at the start of 2008, as the acting Manager of Corporate Communications at ITV. This involved handling media enquiries and preparing corporate communications material, as well as advising on results preparation, and gave me real insight into the workings of an in-house communications department.

At Tulchan I believe that alongside fantastic ongoing training, I have access to some of the best minds in the business.
